A Sweet Valentines

We went to an amazing bed and breakfast for Valentines Day. It was all antiques, and we had the most romantic time! This was our room. The lovely desk in the corner with my even lovelier roses...the inn keeper gave me the vase for them.
They had a library/book store. Stocked with all kinds of old books. I found a very old works of Thomas Moore and The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.

This is the gorgeous ceiling in the great room. Delicately sprayed down to remove 5 layers of white paint, and then hand painted to its now beautiful state.

A close up of my beautiful roses. Oh, how I wish I could've stayed longer! The hotel is Hotel Montcalm in Stanton, Mi. A beautiful room with a delicious breakfast for a very good price!

Allegan in August

These are pics. from allegan in August...the day of the show proved to be the hottest of the summer; 96 degrees. A far cry from what we're experiencing right now!
I hated it. It was sooooo hot, and I get very sick in heat like that, but it was actually our best show and the best display I did all year. I loved how everything turned out. I worked non-stop the whole week before getting everything just so. This awesome turquoise chair was a 60's cast-off; when I got it it was covered in dirt and the wooden parts were just plain; no paint.

Here I am in front of it. I was so proud of that booth! I'm hoping that every booth this summer will look the same(without the intense heat, though). I am going to start posting a lot more. This last year was the hardest of my life, and I have made a decision to take time to smell the roses, as they say. To do more of the things I love. TTFN, Jeri

Buckley Part 1

Here are some fun pics. of the steam engines in Buckley, Michigan this last weekend. That is where we sold for the weekend; we didn't do too well, but we had a nice time. These are original steam engines that still work and everything.

This is the train that makes a one mile trip around the campground. The rides are free.
This is the huge pulley that was used to drill for oil years ago.

It is a great family destination and quite educational. Always the 3rd weekend of August. I'll have more pics. soon of the general store and of my finds. TTFN!

So Sorry...

I find it VERY hard this summer to post anything...between all the different shows, getting more things ready to sell, etc, it is just soooo busy. I will try harder:) Here are a couple goodies I found at Midland last week. I think they are both handpainted. Very Pretty!

Also some summer vignettes from around the house...

I will try to get more pics. on here, because I so enjoy it! TTFN, Jeri
